Advancing the Arts! Please give a warm welcome to The Sandy Springs Arts Foundation.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, January 17, 2019 – Inspiring and impactful, Sandy Springs Arts Foundation was formed to Advance the Arts by providing all Sandy Springs residents access to life-enriching arts experiences and arts education opportunities. By financially supporting diverse arts programming and arts education through grants, Sandy Springs Arts Foundation will enable more programming to come to the City of Sandy Springs.

The arts – performance, visual, and applied - provide skills sought by employers of the 3rd millennium. Our investment in the arts yields a long term, positive impact in the community in education, healthcare, the economy, tourism, and more. From increasing our school graduation rates to improving our home values, supporting the arts encourages creativity and innovation, and benefits everyone in our community, both personally and professionally.

Ken Byers, Sandy Springs Arts Foundation Chairman, said, “Sandy Springs Arts Foundation’s bold mission is to enthusiastically solicit resources to help us support activities, such as performances and related education, in the fabulous new Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center and other venues. This greatly enhances the quality of life in our community. I love it!” We engage donors in the community in several ways. Those who donate $25,000 or more to Sandy Springs Arts Foundation by December 31, 2019 are recognized as Cornerstone members with a permanent etched name plaque prominently placed in the lobby of Byers Theatre at the Performing Arts Center, as well as full membership in the Cornerstone Society. A general donation may be made to the Foundation to support the Arts, or in honor or memory of a special person. In the near future, the Sandy Springs Arts Foundation will launch a Commemorative Brick Campaign, and residents will have the opportunity to purchase a permanent etched brick in the promenade at City Springs.

In 2018, Sandy Springs Arts Foundation made three impactful grants. The first grant was to City Springs Theatre Company and underwrote the development of the organization. The second grant was also made to City Springs Theatre Company to create the education program, allowing residents of all ages to work with directors and actors who performed in the very successful Broadway shows at the Performing Arts Center. The third grant, was provided to the 2019 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, headquartered this year at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. The film festival, the largest in the world, serves more than 38,000 moviegoers in 3 weeks, inspires our community to new levels of social and cultural understanding, and engages diverse audiences. The next grant making cycle will begin the summer of 2019, and the request for proposal will be available to the arts community at www.ssarts.org. We invite you to visit our site: www.ssarts.org, and encourage everyone to Advance the Arts in Sandy Springs by donating, volunteering, following us on social media, and requesting our arts newsletter.
